About

Who we are

The American Service Corps is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization founded in 2020, dedicated to disaster relief, preparedness, and community support. Through a structured Volunteer Corps and a trained Uniformed Service Corps, we provide hands-on assistance during disasters while maintaining year-round readiness through training and coordination. Our mission is to serve communities when they need it most by combining disciplined leadership, practical experience, and a commitment to service—ensuring effective, organized, and compassionate response in times of crisis.

A bit of our history

At its foundation the American Service Corps was created to strengthen local disaster response through trained, community-based service. The organization began made up largely of college students and aspiring public servants, and has since evolved into a broader volunteer-focused model. Today, the majority of our members serve as volunteers within their own communities, while a smaller, highly trained Uniformed members provides structure, leadership, and continuity during deployments. This model is inspired by the principles of locally run Civil Defense (now FEMA)—once a cornerstone of American disaster preparedness—and exists to address the reality that large, centralized response systems are often slow to reach affected communities. Our uniformed members are held to higher standards, recognized for their service, and serve as the organizational backbone in the field. Even our uniforms reflect this heritage, drawing from World War I and World War II–era designs as a symbol of readiness, discipline, and public service.
